Youth Bike Skills Courses
Our youth courses teach traffic safety, cyclist responsibilities, and bike handling skills to develop safe cycling habits and behaviours.
The youth full day course alternates between 45 minute segments of in-class theory and on-bike skills practice.
The youth course theory includes: traffic rules, cyclist rights and responsibilities, road positioning, route planning, bike fit, reflectivity and more.
Skills practice includes: emergency stopping, bike handling, signalling, shoulder checking, and much more. Skills are practiced in a parking lot or other non-traffic environment.
The youth full day concludes with a guided ride where they practice their knowledge and skills through various traffic situations on local quiet residential roads.
