Q: What are the requirements to participate?


  • Participants must be able to ride a bicycle without training wheels.
  • Helmets must be properly fitted and in sound condition.
  • Bicycles must be in safe working condition.

Q: What do I need to bring?

  • Helmet – mandatory
  • Bike – in good working order (if it hasn’t been ridden in a long time, a tune-up in advance of the course is a good idea)
  • Food – pack a lunch and snacks**
  • Water – in reusable water bottles please**
  • Waiver (youth & kids) – print and complete
  • Waiver (adults) – print and complete
  • Bike lock

Q: What should I wear?

  • Closed-toe shoes
  • Weather-appropriate clothing; layers are best

Q: How much do the courses cost?



YOUTH – $60.00

KIDS – $30.00

Q: What do I get?

  • Bike sense manual
  • Regional cycling map
  • Reflective stickers and bracelets *when available
  • A bucket-load of knowledge and skills

Q: How long are the courses?

  • ADULT Full Day 7.5 hours including a snack and lunch break (usually runs 9:00 – 4:30)
  • ADULT Quick Course 4.5 hours including a basic bike mechanics overview (usually runs 9:00 – 1:30)
  • YOUTH  6 hours including a break for lunch (usually runs 9:00 – 3:00)
  • KIDS  3 hours including a snack break (usually runs 9:00 – 12:00)

Q: Where are the courses held?

We put on courses throughout the Greater Victoria region, but most often our courses are held at 2975 Jutland Rd.  Occasionally, we run courses out in the community at places like: the Oak Bay Rec Centre, Henderson Rec Centre, Pearkes Rec Centre, the Crystal Pool, Panorama Rec Centre,  and more.  Check out our booking page for all upcoming course locations.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

  • Courses run rain or shine
  • If you need to reschedule, credit can be applied towards another course as long as you do so 7 days in advance
  • No refunds for cancelled bookings or no-shows
